Kunming, which is known as Spring City, meet at airport and
transfer to your hotel. If have time, you could tour Yunnan
Ethnic Village Park and Yunnan Minorities Museum. Welcoming
dinner with Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle. |

Take a
morning flight to Lijiang. The old town has a history of
almost a thousand years. Visit Shuhe Ancient Town and Black
Dragon Pond Park. Then back to Lijiang, have free time in
Lijiang Ancient Town. |

We will
depart Lijiang early in the morning to take a 2.5-hour drive
to Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the world's deepest gorges
tucked between Yulong Snow Mountain and the Haba Mountains.
After crossing the river, we will drive to Qiaotou, where we
will stop for lunch. We will start our trek in the lower
section of this 17-km (10.5 mi) gorge along the Jinsha
River. In the afternoon, we will trek four to five hours to
reach Walnut Grove, a village located along a path from
which you can see the Yangtse River literally leaping
through this narrow gorge. We will stay overnight in Walnut
Grove. |

We will
leave the guest house after breakfast and spend the morning
walking to Haba Village, where we will spend the night.
After lunch, we will take a gentle walk along hills around
the village, from which you can get a spectacular view of
the surrounding snow peaks. |

Today's six
to 7-hour trek will take us through Naxi villages, each
possessing its own unique charm. We will spend the night at
White Water Terrace, where the Naxi culture originated. The
village's name comes from the white rock formations shaped
like small rice terraces located just above the town. |

Today we
continue on by car, driving 3-4 hours west to Zhongdian, a
small town on the Tibetan Plateau. At 3,300 m (10,000 ft)
above sea level (only 400m lower in altitude than Lhasa) the
climate here is cool year round. As we coast along we'll
enjoy beautiful mountain scenery as we ascend the Gaylthang
plateau. In the afternoon we will visit Ganden Sumsanlin
monastery, the largest monastery in Yunnan, built in the
17th century. This impressive monastery was established
under the instruction of the 5th Dalai Lama, and is home to
over 700 monks. |

Take the
morning flight back to Kunming. Visit Jingxing Flowers and
Birds Market. Then transfer to airport for your departure
flight. |
